Smith Island Cake

I rarely get angry. I mostly get frustrated. I dissolve into tears, transforming into a crying, sobbing, weeping, inconsolable mess. When I've worked myself into that state, it's best that you not try to tease me into a better humor. Restrain your smart mouth.

Try pretty words. Try a tender kiss on the head. Though -- to be honest -- it's unlikely that either of those would have been successful when I saw that slide-age had occurred:

Smith Island Cake

p.s. Yes, of course it tastes good! That's not the point!

Awwwww! I would have cried, too. That looks like a lot of work. How did the cake in the linked photo stay up so straight?!?

Had that happen with a 14 layer cake when the carmel frosting/glaze wouldn't set and kept oozing off. We just kept bailing it out and dripping it back over the top. : )

Yum! I'm sure no one noticed, mood-lit as I'm sure it was, in just Birthday-candle light :)

Yikes, eight stacked cakes tall! What is it, three feet tall?

Good to see you out on the Town Lake trail this morning. As far as your cooking, I admire anyone who can (1) cook and (2) blog about it. Not much of a sweets person myself...

Well, it could have been worse! What if it slid off completely and hit the floor-wait 5 second rule!

Oh, I completely missed this post!

You have my sympathies... at some point, cakes will get to you, even if you are pro

(that's why I stay away from them, as much as possible... :-)

I would have cried too... a bucket of tears....
